A winter base layer

Hi I am in need of a decent winter base layer,
I have tried DHB merino and a Madison base layer, but not that impressed,
I am looking at the
Assos winter skin-foil or the castelli Flanders warm base layer,
Anyone owned both. Or does anyone have another base layer they can recommend?
Many thanks

Spatz Basez - £60 at vanillabikes. I have two so I can wash and alternate them, they are really really good. long back section, nice long arms with thumb loops so the arms bridge into your gloves, good fit and a nice tall comfy neck. I'm on my second winter with mine and still impressed.
Also worth a look are the Brynje Super thermo long sleeve tops - they look a bit 'string vest fetish' but are really nice and warm, cheaper than the Spatz too.
When its been really cold I've been know to wear both of the above under a jersey and a jacket, but it was raining, 1°c and I really feel the cold!0 -
Endura baa baa is my go to winter base layer, I’ve got some decent craft ones as well but the endura is the best.0
