  • Is it just because it is fresh in the memory that the crazy 50kmh average day in this years Vuelta stands out as well?

The stage of the 2017 Tour that Uran won was very good (in an otherwise dull Tour)

What was that stage when other teams attacked Sky early doors and put them into a load of trouble? I seem to think it was a short mountain stage somewhere, I think Contador was involved.

2016(?) Vuelta, when Froome abandoned with a broken foot afterwards?
    Nope.
It was 2015 and Andorra where Froome broke is foot.
We waved G and the lads ta ta at the start, then went and found a bar that had the tv coverage on.
By which time Froome had already crashed in the neutral zone and was struggling to get back to the front of the race.

My shout would be stage 7 of the 2010 Giro. 222kms through the Strade Bianche mud to Montalcino.

Even the photo link here describes it as the "World's Best Giro Ditalia Stage Carrara To Montalcino"

Then there was also stage 11, the Greatest Ever Escape, where all the GC boys got totally mugged.

One that sticks in my head is De Gendt's solo attack in the 2012 Giro, up the Stelvio. Rocketed him up to 3rd overall, and at one point it looked like he might take pink.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Can we have a 'Most Emotional Stage of the Decade Catagory'?

Anyone fancy ranking the Tours in order of excitement? Here's my stab.

    1) 2011
    2) 2019
    3) 2010
    4) 2018
    5) 2015
    6) 2017
    7) 2014
    8) 2013
    9) 2016
    10) 2012

    swap 2011 with 2019

actually it was a pretty decent decade

2018 giro was a bit special IMO. 2019 tour very close runner up. 2010 Giro right up there too.
2016 Roubaix was the best classic.
2016 Olympic was best wild card one day race
