Giant Anthem X2 2013 - Upgrading Rear Shock

Hi All,
Am thinking of upgrading my old-trusted Giant Anthem X2 2013 rear shock:
Currently: RockShox Monarch R
What would be my best hit in here??
Don't want to go mad here just something slightly better and something that would fit 2013 model obviously.
(BTW, I will generally overhaul the bike to get it ready for spring, so dont want to spend £££ on the rear shock).

I'd look at getting a used but good nick RP23, should only cost circa £50 and they are a really good shock.
The Monarch R frankly is a dog.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.1 -
Whatever you get make sure it is the correct size. The Anthem shock is 165x38 (6.5x1.5).
