giant tcr advanced 1 rim or discs help

Going to buy a new bike its looking like 2019 model giant defy advanced 1 model disc or rims the rim version is shimano ultegra and the disc is its own brand conduct sl disc which one.

  • Are you going to be using it for commuting or leisure riding?If commuting and there is alot if stop/start,Id go disc,if leisure Id probably go rim..is it a TCR or defy you are looking at

    Personally I'd go with disc,s, unless only as a dry day bike. The conduct system basically uses manual levers going to a hydraulic converter aka conduct system. Only downside I can see is it reduces the space available on the bars. There are a few bolt on bits available for garmins etc now. The wheel set are pretty bombproof, certainly mine have been on my Defy.

    The conduct system is really pretty good - excellent feel and stopping power. My conduct came with 10-speed Tiagra, tempted to go for an 11-speed upgrade (just because!) and I’m finding it difficult to justify spending extra on getting rid of the conduct stuff
