Bike Sizing

I am currently looking at the Canyon Ultimate CF SL 8.0. I am am 172 cm tall with an inseam of 76 cm. I am right on the cutoff between Small and Extra Small. The website suggests that I get a XS but I was wondering if somebody could tell me the disadvantages and advantages of both going for the smaller on or the bigger one. Thank you for your help in advance!

In general going for the smaller option is best. It is easier to get a good fit a bit too small bike than a bit too large bike with such things as longer stems if required. If the bike is a bit big you could hit the limits of how much you can reduce the reach etc before it is correct for you.
