Appropiate bike size for 7 year old boy?

I'm going to a birthday party next week for a 7 years old boy... i intend to get a bike for the kid but i don't know what's the right dimension of the bike?

    Despite what kids clothes makers seem to think ,all 7 year olds are not the same size. I know that bit of info is of no use to you but I have found with my grandson there is no substitute for actually trying the bike for size.

    An odd question, but as others say, depends on their size and proportions! Islabikes have very good sizing information on their website, but you need to measure the child. However their sizing is totally different from almost all other children's bikes. Please don't give a child a bike that doesn't fit. It'll make cycling unejoyable.

    I found that Specialized Hotrocks fitted my kids from age 7 up to 13 yrs, then they went on to small adult bikes. One of bikes I bought is now with it's 7th owner, so quality was good as well.
