New bike advice - Steel, Hub and Hydraulic - Price less than 4K?

Hi all,
I'm looking for a quality, low maintenance commuter with the following criteria:
- Steel frame
- Hub gears
- Hydraulic disc brakes
I really like the Genesis Day One 20 (999 GBP) but I'm put-off by the mechanical disc brakes. I can't seem to find anything in a similar price range with hydraulic disc brakes. For example, the Shand Daunder Rohloff looks great but 3995 GBP is way over my budget.
Please could anyone advise a bike similar to the Genesis Day One 20 but with hydraulic disc brakes around the 1500 GBP mark?
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Ben K

The Day One 20 has a bar-end shifter, so you could fit TRP Hylex brakes (https://www.wiggle.co.uk/trp-hylex-rs-brake-2) for around £250, with a bit extra for labour if you're not confident fitting them yourself.0

Personally I'd look at building it myself, starting with the Day1 you could readily go hydraulic for a lot less than an extra £3K!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
You could get the Day One 20 and replace the brake calipers with either TRP Hy/Rd's or Juin Tech's?
They're supposed to be nearly as good as a proper hydro set up.
