I can see some threads coming off the tire near the bead on my marathon plus tires. I've cut them off but is this a sign that the tires need replacing? The tire is otherwise ok (a bit worn but will do some mileage yet).

I get this a lot on Continental tyres. I use a lighter or candle to burn them off as if you pull/cut them they keep coming back. These are fine threads and seem non structural to me.

    Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

exactly as PP says - candle or lighter will do the job perfectly.

Go on then, I’ll say it too, just to make MFs reply make sense....
