Tubeless ready rims

I was Idly looking at some carbon rims from a Chinese manufacturer over a wet lunch break today. They came with regular spoke drilling, or 'tubeless read drilling', so the bed was hole free and didn't require rim tape. They said this made fitting the nipples more difficult. I was wondering, how do you fit get the nipples in place with such a rim?

I'm not sure I'd want to do that for all 24 spokes, but I can't see how else to do it. Although I'm sure there must be a more elegant way of doing it in a factory/shop.

You can do it also with a magnet see at 9:45min in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiF5ouOokIc

Thanks. Half tempted to have a go now.
  • If you want hole-less rim beds, then Mavic has the neeter solution with the fore system. So get a pair of Ksyrium... Other systems involving magnets are just a total PITA
