Last generation Domane still a good buy ?

In my quest for comfort like others I have concluded that endurance is pretty much exclusively disc now. Not a problem really and happy to make the move if needs be, but noted a few of last years Domane bikes still knocking about.
This would mean I could keep my Bontrager XXX 47mm wheels in action which are superb wheels and cost me a few quid in April this year. So anyone got any opinions on Domane and last gen version ? I have to get off super stiff road bikes now and narrowing down the options week by week til stock arrives in the UK from the current front runner a Defy which is disc only. I am in between bikes as my last frame split and was replaced under warranty.
I do not race, never have, the fastest I have ever attained as an average over 44 miles in 21 mph solo which I had to work hard to attain on rough roads. I ride in and around Dartmoor ratty roads which a 11/34 is also my next move. Approaching 50 so comfort more important than speed so I suspect the two work together. So any old skool Domane riders out there ? Good enough for Fabian etc etc ! Thanks.

I considered one for a while but was put off by the BB90 bottom bracket. Even Trek seem to be giving up on it now.

I suspect replacements bearings will be hard to source before long and almost no one other than Trek is offering them. If you bottom bracket develops a squeak you're kinda screwed.0 -
Buy the 2020 rim brake frameset with the new T47 BB type and transfer your bits over.

Thanks !
I found a 2019 SLR frame online and will build that up and the 56cm geo is spot on for me.
Kogel are supporting BB90 so no problems there. Means I can keep my 47mm xxx bontrager wheels in action and not migrate to disc yet or giants mixed up stem bar combo. Pics to follow if anyone interested.0 -
I have a 2017 disc version, have also had the 2014 rim brake version. The 2017 version is the SL5 Disc, front and rear isospeed. The 2014 was from memory the 4.2 (105 version). I’ve also owned at the same time Madone’s and an Emonda. (Domane has always been my winter bike)
It’s a comfortable bike, but the biggest difference isn’t the jsospeed, it’s the fact that it takes 32mm tyres.
Just for info, I have to swap the BB and the headset bearings once a year.0
