Smileys / Emojis or whatever you call them

Does anybody more tech minded than me (that won't be hard) know why I can't add a smiley to my post.

I am using a Motorola android phone and when I try to add one I get

"Your message contains the following unsupported character" and shows the smiley.

Is there a specific way to do it or is it just me!!

    BBCode smileys as used by this site are coded differently from the emoji your phone uses.

    You need to use the smileys in the 'Full Editor' only.

    Although you can type them in the quick editor if you know the secret codes
