Hi
I have just brought a orange crush frame to do a build with my son. He has fox forks with a straight steerer tube. There is a cane creek xiix tapered headset fitted.
What is the best way to convert to accommodate the straight forks. I have seen a crown race reducer but not sure which one I need but also wanted to ask if I can buy a bottom headset cup that reduces the size.
Any info would be greatly recieved.
Regards
Gordon

Hi Gordon,
You can indeed buy a lower headset adaptor that allows you to use a straight steerer in a tapered frame.
Some manufacturers now offer mix n max headset options, you buy the upper and lower separately based on what you need.
I know that Hope do them and I recently bought a Nukeproof version (cheaper!).

You just need to make sure that you get the appropriate version for your frame.
I hope that helps a bit.
*EDIT* forgot to ask that the Fox fork travel is appropriate for the frame you have?"Ride, crash, replace"0
