Ta for the heads up on the rain, hopefully it will stay dry (But dull) for tomorrow's race. Might mean I have to go and do a sunny race this afternoon.

Not much planned for the day, just need to clean sweat and tears off my bike and sort out a few creaks that have appeared during the week.
  • Morning, nice start here in Lincolnshire, dog walked, drivetrain on the bike cleaned and lubed ready for the club run this morning
    Have a good weekend

    Morning folks,
Slow start is being enjoyed, a spot of rugby featured. Mildly hungover as a pint or two was extended somewhat.
Got a few jobs to do around the house and preparing for the lad’s 21st and departure for uni. Have to drive him up tomorrow unfortunately.
Hope to get out in the sunshine at some point.

Busy day so far, hound walked as the sun came up and then dropped him off and got the fun bike out of the garage.

After ride and pig based breakfast I went canoeing for a couple of hrs with the kids, then haircut, now having a rest whilst strimming the ferkin garden - hour in and at least another hour to go.

Then friends over for a bbq and a much deserved beer

I wrecked a few things along the way. Then I chucked a load of things. It's funny how ditching accumulated flotsam and jetsam gives such a good feeling.
It's sunny. Must go capitalise on the last day of summer.

Good in some ways but I've had enough of it for now. Will get onto the loft after a bit of a break.

Been out to that thar countrysoide with the hounds and am now taking taking break before headed out to get stuff. Junior went out for a house party last night, crashed a friend's place and hasn't got back yet. Must have been a good one.

Dad + Daughter #1 day out, off road stuff up on the Ridgeway. Pub stops x n included. Perked up the vintage Marin Mount Vision, first proper ride on that in years. Really enjoyed the bridleways, byways, gravels and that after multiple years of hard core roadie. Thinking I might get the old Marin properly serviced, give it to daughter #1 to help develop her growing interest in cycling and get myself one of these new fangled gravel bike things. Broaden dem horizons innit

See, whenever I stick the gravel tyres on my bike and head off road, I always think what a good invention is tarmac. Probably because I'm inept, but as soon as I get up any speed, I'm convinced I'm going to stack it. Pootling is nice enough, but I do like to batter it.

Had a stinking headache all morning after getting up, think i must be getting a lurgy.
Got bike lovely and shiny but was in 2 minds as to whether or not to go out on it.

The glorious weather convinced me to go, and had a great afternoon out: Knocked nearly a minute off a 10 mile PB.
Despite the wind everyone was flying today, maybe the heat made the air less dense and easier to ride through.

Just need to do the same tomorrow morning :D
  • Long drive in countryside yesterday, lunch stop for fish 'n chips by the river, which was very good if a little pricey.

Back to normal duties today, i.e. laying about in sunshine, fiddling in shed etc.
