Peak District to Leeds

Can anyone help me with a route from the Peak District into Leeds city centre. Ideally from Glossop but can make adjustments and go from elsewhere if it makes sense.

Road cycling the whole way. I was trying to find local clubs rides up that direction but struggling to find anything great and Strava's routing suggests going through some farm/forest. I figured the Bikeradar hivemind might have some ideas.

This route takes in some of my favourite roads in the first half and avoids most of the real traffic b*stards in the more built up areas. It also avoids some of the urban highways in Leeds (where I work as a courier).

Nice one. I had actually originally got some route using the A653 and wasn't too sure about whether it would be clogged with traffic and noticed it's a dual carriageway. I assume it should be fairly ok on a Saturday afternoon?

Thats a nice route. It goes right past my house and is the route I take into Leeds.

Might I respectfully, suggest that you avoid Woodhead Pass (A628) on a Saturday. Its much safer to take the pain of Holme Moss.

I'd also suggest a small tweak and avoid Skelmanthorpe (nasty steep hill) , go via Shelley and up over beside the Emley Moor Towers.
