Deffo starting to get a little cooler. My first thought when I got home after the cycle from work was that I need to get out the winter gloves and skully.

  • Morning. Well autumn is here but by the way some are talking here you'd swear an artic winter had already arrived! Beautiful morning here only made less so by being in work....

Morning folks, very good sleep after yesterdays mega early stsrt and day trip out West. Stilm a bit tired though. A few jobs to do then retrieve the hounds from where we parked them on Friday. Otherwise, 4 day week to look forward to.

Cold ride here, whipped out the merio arm warmers which were lovely, short one as the chain decided to snap on me which was fun.

Chill fit new chain then watch the F1
  • Sheesh, that was supposed to be a slack day. :x

Timber boards prep cutting. Dig a bl00dy great hole in prep for tree planting apparently. More timber. Quick run to shops for dinner stuff. Chainsaw activity for a while to tidy up some loose branches, ready for fire. Split more timber. Clean up shed. Ride bike on turbo because by the time I got round to that it was dark.

Dinner, nice shiraz or two for a change, since I don't drink much these days. Watched some mindless fluff on TV for an hour by the fire... knackered.

    'noon,

pressed new bearings into spare freehub body and decided i really should get a proper adapter, couldn't find one for 6702 apart from in a big set from the usa, so made up a quickie design and sent it off to be zapped with frickin' lasers out of lumps of aluminium, much more satisfying :D

Handy having access to one of those.. 8)

On a related but not quite so happy note... tried fitting my router into the new (used) table I bought for it and doesn't work, will need packing blocks for the clamps to hold it in place. Grrrrr.

What's wrong with an old bloke with a lathe? I want a lathe.
Had to go to Croydon this morning, thankfully escaped in good time. Stopped in to see the old dear on the way back, H³'s portaloo is still standing. Now got a few odd jobs to do, once I've finished procrastinating.

So it is. Just popped round. They seem to have plonked a skip on next door's drive. There was no one living there, as the Cubans have moved out, hopefully that's still the case...

Been up to the Wimbledon and Putney Commons open day. Good fun, lots of horses and posh people. I bought a couple of jars of local honey.

Team MFs (and Step): The black cassette looks fast and hides the dirt, but doesn't hide the wear

Maybe it's an intentional wear indicator?

Computer says 667 miles (put it on in Feb, same time as the chain). It's on my bouncy bike so it might wear faster due to more mud/sand/grit.

[Pedant mode: on) However, if the cassette and chain are both black, you won't clean it so often and it will all wear out quicker. [Pedant mode: Off]

On the plus side, your Wiggle loyalty code/status should improve.
