Headset issue on Kinesis build
Bought a new Kinesis racelight frame and tracer fork from my LBS.
They supplied the headset bearings too.
The bottom race fits fine as does the top race.
However, I can't get the headset to tighten. I pushed in the expander ring in between the fork tube and top bearing race. Everything is flush. I have 4 x very thin metal washers and have tried using 1, 2, 3 & 4 of them. Still doesn't tighten.
I'm leaving the correct gap between top of steerer tube and spacers for the bung to compress. No luck.
Don't have this issue on my old Felt F75 which has a new headset. That goes together easily.
Something isn't right. Wondering if it might be the fork compression plug. :roll:

Well the crappy expander ring is plastic and not very good. Replaced with a spare conical metal one that I had. Much better.0
