Hi all,
Have a giant TCR advanced 2 (105 5800 2018 model). I need to replace the front mech due to a none to clever miss hap when storing the bike (luckily frame and chainset appear not to be damaged)
Anyway, I was looking at the newer r7000 one and wanted to check it would be fine with the current 105 5800 chainset and shifteds
According to the tech docs, here:
https://productinfo.shimano.com/#/com?c ... acid=C-454
It looks like it will be fine
My chainset is the 50/34 compact one

So all 5800 but 7000 front mech and no issues at all?0 -
Setting a R7000 front mech up is different to previosu Shimano mechs, you need to get the alignment right then attach the cable then the limit screws then adjust the cable tension. Once set up correctly shifting is much easier, you only need to move the lever like you would for shifting at the rear.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
