Jerseys with similar fit to Castelli Free Aero?

Hi,

I'm looking to refresh my cycling wardrobe and as always, bewildered with the number of offerings out there. I'm looking for a very slender, race-fit jersey, similar to the Castelli Free Aero jerseys, for which I would normally be a size Small.

Can anyone recommend a similar thing in some other brands? Most of my kit is Castelli, just because I know the sizing and fit well, but I'd like to try something different.

Thanks!

  • Have you had a look at MAAP? Bought a couple of their ss jerseys earlier this year and am very impressed. Well made and good quality fabrics and definitely a slim race cut (I am a small or XS in pretty much every cycle clothing manufacturer I have tried; rapha, endura, castelli, dhb, gore, etc but had to size up to a medium in MAAP). If you do give them a try, it's worth noting that they are an Australian company and the short sleeve jerseys seem to be made for very hot summer conditions, the material is thin and lightweight.

    THIS ^^^

Bought one of the PSN jerseys a few months back. Simply put, it's brilliant. Pretty much fits close like a skin suit but the pockets on the back are excellent too. I'll be adding a few more.

Following a recommendation of the BR bargains thread I bought an SPExcel jersey from AliExpress and found it ridiculously good for the money.

Basically a full aero jersey for about £18. Took about a week to arrive. I went for a non-branded one so it doesn't scream Chinese knock off but the cut construction, fabric etc is all top notch. Obviously not Castelli, La Passione etc but honestly, try one, if you don't like it you've only lost £18.

You can, but you'll be disappointed. Just stick with Castelli.

Sportful has a similar fit to Castelli (made in the same factory), while Rapha team's have a even more slender fit.
(XS size of castelli is still a little larger for me but that of rapha team fits me quite well)

I would strongly recommend Ale, though depending on your build, you may need to swap to medium.
    Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06
    Scott CR1 SL 12
    Cannondale Synapse Adventure 15 & 16 Di2
    Scott Foil 18

I take a small in Castelli/Sportful and I bought a small. Fits as tight as regular Castelli but not as tight as the aforementioned Aero jersey (I own an Aero 5.1). Nice cut, long sleeves with aero dimples, short enough at the front that it fits right in the tuck position. Going to order a few more, because it knock spots off my cheaper commuting gear, and really not a lot of difference to my considerably more expensive stuff.
