Hi There,
We're leaving the south behind to be near or in the Yorkshire Dales. Our nearest towns I guess, will be Settle, Sedbergh, Kirkby Londsale and Ingleton.
Does anyone know of clubs in these areas?
Thanks so much

not personally but Id suggest looking on Facebook groups for the area.
If youre there, you will have to do the Yorkshire Dales Cycleway, its an epic but ace, so many good places to ride.0 -

Skipton and Ilkley not too far away also have clubs depending exactly where you're going to live.0 -

Same. Although cycling aside, I'd probably get cabin fever.
Let us know if you want route suggestions, OP, but I guess you'll soon know it like the back of your hand!Ben

Ah, brilliant. Thanks all. Will do some digging and also take a look to see if BC have any info too. Will definitely keep in touch for routes....0

I suppose it depends on where you are going to be, but if you're Kirkby Lonsdale or Sedbergh way, then Kendal CC wouldn't be too far away.

The thing is with the Dales it's a bloody big area!0 -

Yeh they didn't p1ss about with hairpins when building roads up- and down dale! The road over the top between Gayle and Buckden is a fine example of that attitude!Ben

That was always the killer bit of the Fleet Moss Audax, which despite it's name was almost an unofficial end of season race. Clearing the climb out of Gayle was beyond most folk.0 -
For some reason I have never found Fleet Moss to be that bad although empirically it is 'challenging'. Park Rash and the Coal Road somehow seem harder - although for me the climb out of Pateley up Church Lane is worse.FFS! Harden up and grow a pair0

Never been up the Coal Road out of Garsdale, but I've been up the other end to Dent Station. Not a climb I like.0

you haven't missed anything. I love the Dales but some of the climbs are just stupid.0 -

A rhythm can be found, you can settle into it. And there are some flat spots.
Kidstones always gets me - just goes straight up and stays straight up until the top. Nice drop into the other side of Buckden though. :-)Ben
