Light getting very warm

I have a Lezyne Deca Drive 1500XXL light which I've had for a while. I've just noticed it's getting very warm when switched on. Is this normal or is it faulty?

    Not sure on how warm your particular light is supposed to get but all my cree lights ranging from 300 lumens up to 2000 all get pretty warm unless air flowing over them.
    Too many bikes according to Mrs O.

    Normal - there's a lot of power going through them. Some of mine have cooling fins - and as they are designed for bikes - the airflow helps cool them anyway.

    My Exposure lights get warm in use but the air rushing over them at 17mph does a good job of cooling them.
    I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
