Not the same bike but I have a sonder evol and they are great bikes. Have already ragged it senseless round local trails and bike parks and it has taken a battering and still going strong. Great well built bikes.

I only didn’t buy one of these frames to build up as I got a Vitus Sentier frame for £150 in a sale.

You won’t get a decent steel framed bike for that budget new.

There’s not much in it between the Vitus and the Sonder. I haven’t checked spec for spec but they both have similar gearing and forks which are a lot of the main cost.

Geometry wise the Sonder is a degree slacker on the head angle and a little bit longer in the reach. If anything the Sonder might have the edge over the Sentier on steep tech trails or flat out stuff, but as a beginner I don’t think you’d notice that.

Just check which has the best wheels and tyres and which you like the look of more / which you can get the best deal on.
