I have just moved to London living between Greenwich Park and Woolwich Common. I have been cycling for a while on the road but would like to start cyclocross racing. Any ideas on which clubs would be best to join. Thinking of ones that have a cx training night or practice races would be best.

Or if there are groups not affiliated to any one club that have cx training nights.

Also, if wanting to practice skills on my own I could just go to one of the parks and find a grassy area with an embankment but are they maybe some cx trails or even moderate mtb trails that could be used ?

Herne Hill velodrome have a cx route around their track but I know no more than that.

I sometimes cycle with Peckham CC, a friendly bunch and am sure some ride cx too.
  • Dulwich have a very active off-road section. Weekly off-road chaingangs, weekend rides and plenty of us race.
