Wave Washer

Hi
I was wondering if anyone has experienced the wave washer, that sits between the Bottom Bracket and the crank, failing in situ? And what the reason for a failure might be?
Just experienced this myself. I check for movement of the cranks fairly regularly so didn’t think the washer should be experiencing enough cyclic deformation from loading to crack. Could be wrong though.
Thanks

this isn't the bottom bracket you are looking for, better to post question in the workshop forum... viewforum.php?f=40004
but barring incorrect installation i'd assume wear or damage due to contaminationmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Some one taking the bottom bracket section title litterally.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

Not had it on a bottom bracket but the wavy washer inside my suspension fork has split in 1 place. It still seems to do the job so I've just put it back in.
You may/may not get better advice in the workshop section as others have said.0
