I’m doing 3 TT (1 mile, 5k, 10k) in September and want to be able to record each separately on Edge-500, and not record warmup rides between each. I think last time I tried turning it off and on, but if I remember right they ended up as one file instead of 3 files. What’s the best way to end up with 3 separate files?

Start the ride when you start and when you finish each ride press end ride and save it.

Then just press start/play to record the next ride.

Hold down the bottom right button once you've finished your first ride, you'll get a countdown from 3 saying "reset in ...3...2...1" with a bleep. That saves the ride as a file on the device, and you can now start recording again. Repeat.

On the 800 it was press the start/stop button to stop the ride, then press and hold the lap button whilst it does its "reset in 3 2 1" with a beep - as Craigus describes - so, given the 500 is the same generation as the 800 it'll be the same method - but couldn't tell you where the lap/reset button was ... ;)

I put my hand up, and the team car brings me another Garmin.
