Off to a meeting near a classic car parts place in London, should really have stayed over last night but too much on.

Parents over later, apparently just for tea but I bet we end up in the pub

    Morning
Cycled a whole mile this morning from the car to the office. Planning on an MTB ride after work, might have lost all motivation by 4pm.
MTB fork swap is on hold as the cheap ones I'd seen weren't bouncy enough.

Selling casa mf and moving to Syria?

Boy it poured last night. Now the sun has popped out. The marsh lands will have to be drained before I can mow.

    Some toots shenanigans today.

Hungover. Just had a lecture about the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from a colleague midway through a conversation about wood. MTB ride after work. Today isn't going well.

    morning all and sundry.
Spent this morning moaning at the service manager of a car dealership after they f*cked up.
we bought a new (to us) car (£6k isn't much to some on here but my normal outlay on cars would top out at £1k and I like to think a reasonably reliable motor can be had for £200).
63 plate, 55k miles, FSH Fiat (don't laugh) 500L, petrol.
We got them to change the cambelt and waterpump before hand-over but were surprised to then have to top up the coolant and had some issues with the brakes so it went back after 3 weeks.
2 weeks later (!) we got it back and now, 1 week on its losing coolant again and I noticed they had pinched the wiring loom between the cambelt cover and cylinderhead. The cable should be nicely routed in a slot in the cover but oh no. The other end of the cable, going to the oil pressure sensor, was then resting against the exhaust heat shield. And the car came back dirty.
We need the car for summer pre-brexit grande tour on wednesday. ARGGGHHHH.
    Rant over.

Very much so, going back in the wet to ride all the unofficial stuff at Ae after the last few rides in the dust. No KOMs for me today but probably better training for racing the weekend after...

No, thanks for the kind offer. I'm sure they wont get the works experience kid to do it this time.

do you want me to send an MF down to see the work experience child to talk to him and persuade him to never touch anything again?

    Afternoon folks,
Busy as the proverbial one armed juggler with crabs this morning, thankfully the phones have been quiet. Unfortunately some bright spark has just fixed the phones. You coming to visit us TLW? Got to get everything sorted ready for my holiday, heading to Italy tomorrow morning. :-)

See, that's a proper holiday destination. Good food, wine, culture, no 9 hour flight.
Sat in the pikey non-airline lounge and trying not to sigh or roll my eyes.

could be worse, at least there's some decent wine in the usa, not been to mia for ages but recall us drinking the hotel dry of the mumm napa bubbly, slight rose tint, way better than a lot of french bubbly, and for casual poolside quaffing try the 'white' zinfandel

Flying in to MIA. Then fort Lauderdale, then disney, on to st Petersburg, down to the keys, then MIA for 4 nights at the end. Lots of driving. Mrs H3 has "lost" her driving licence.

    He should have.
But in retaliation err..., I mean return, Hoppy should get carte blanche on the next destination.

What are the hapless grease monkey's providing as an excuse DHL?
It's shoddy. Those cooling systems are a pain to bleed properly. Renault's are worse.

    Busy day.

Enjoy the hols Hoppy, Veronese and DHL and anyone else who's going away. I'm not going for another month, but he who laughs last and all that. Pedalling back to dog related chaos soon, may have a drink to balance things out. Unfortunately the in-laws are coming round on Saturday which means the weekend is less attractive than it normally is.

They are sending a clean monkey (if they are dirty I will make them wash) to collect the car on Monday. If it's not done on time we'll keep the loan car for the holiday. They had no excuse, what excuse is there when you pinch the loom between a cover and the cylinder head. Still, they put new new discs and pads on the front thinking I had a sticking caliper. If they had bothered to listen to my diagnosis in the first place they wouldn't have needed to. Still, what do I know?
