Cycle locks - cables

If cable locks and cables are so bad (and I know they are) why are they still sold by shops without TELLING new bikers

My son and I have ABUS Granite D locks, I know nothing is 100% which is why we also have pinheads on the wheels but I don't want to carry my helmet

Ideas please

Also I still can't add a signature, I have been into CP etc but there is no where to add one

    Go into control panel, click the Profile Tab along the top and within the menu there is a edit signature tab. As for the cable lock and don’t really know what your problem with them is or what advice you are after. Sorry.

    They're ok for low risk bikes in low risk areas.

    I've never locked my bike at any café I've stopped at.
