    Same as Dan, take the 48, I guess the "bigger figure" and add the 20 to it. Then add what was left.

    It's interesting how people process this differently

    27+48 = 25+50 = 75
    I’m a mathematician and I’ve taught my kids tricks like that. I’ve seen quite a few disconcerted adults when my kids get to the answer quicker than they can.
    Never be tempted to race against a Barclays Cycle Hire bike. If you do, there are only two outcomes. Of these, by far the better is that you now have the scalp of a Boris Bike.

    68 + 7 =75
