There's a mechanically sound but cosmetically grubby circa 1987 Muddy Fox Explorer at the Aston Clinton recycling centre shop for £10. They were £385 back then. 3x6 gears, bar top levers, cantilevered brakes and narrow bars, who could resist? Well, I did, but someone's going to get the bike every kid my age wanted in 1987

You should have bought it, be great as a pub hack if nothing else.

£10 just for the nostalgia would have been worth it....

I've just "tidied up" a £10 Kona Fire Mountain purchased from the Re-Use Centre for a work chum. Really just needed a new chain, new gear cables, a spot of grease and a good clean.
