Is there a compatibility chart somewhere I couldn't find? I read some anecdote on another forum about the chainring being in a slightly different position for R8050 and this could cause some issues.
  • Basically anything thats e-tube will work together from an operating point of view. Im not even using a Shimano crank with R8050 its not a problem.

What does e-tube mean exactly? it's just the software right or is it something more?

Further, is there any real difference between 9070 shifters and 9150 shifters? I suspect mild ergonomics changes / weight but anything else?

get your head in the shimano tech docs. fundamentally minor ergonomics. si.shimano.com look for shop manuals and fill your boots.

    use google, it helps.

I wouldn't have asked if my google-fu had sufficed. I managed to find the docs in the end but the first few results weren't useful, hence deciding to ask here. For future readers of this thread, which are probably using Google...

sorry, that came across as a bit patronising. I just google the sentence I want to find out and usually on the front page you'll get an approximate answer. but Si techdocs are great. cheers.
