New Bike Build - something a little different

Was on the lookout for a Winter Bike build project and saw this frame on eBay....had great fun searching for, sourcing and haggling for the parts, but now I have an individual bike with an interesting history, built by me to my spec and for a great price. I know not everyone will like the colourscheme, but bikes are individual things and as long as I like it, well....

Mudguards rule in winter. Make such a difference on wet days.

He can always use clip on guards if not enough clearance for full.

OP I take it with the pink paint you will be wearing rapha clothing when riding it!
  • I actually don’t own any Rapha kit, and won’t be buying any either, not really a Rapha fan...just liked the frames different colour scheme. The previous owner had it sprayed as he was something to do with the RCC...
...and I won’t be buying or using any firm of mudguards either!

    It's a crap winter bike then ?

It’s a bike for the winter, yes...a “crap bike”? Well, that’s up to interpretation I suppose. A full carbon, Di2 specced Pinarello isn’t “crap” in my books

It's a Winter bike if you use it in the Winter, but it looks equally well (or even better) suited to Summer. Lovely bike though.

As sparquin says - nice bike for the summer - but it's not a winter bike. Where's the fun in having mud and rain spraying all over you and your mates ?

Lovely bike but it's just not a UK winter bike for me.

I’ve ridden through every winter for the past dozen years or so and I’ve enough wet weather gear to ensure I stay warm and dry (as have the mates I ride with)...and I’ve already got a lovely summer bike. The only reason this has Di2 is because it’s an electronic only frame. Bit overkill but hey ho!

Nice work. I'm not not normally fan of flipped stems but yours looks rather nice.
