Its a weird retro style work of art.... 8)

Kind of like 1990's steel frame paint jobs.

Crikey! That is an assault on the senses! I read it wearing sunglasses and with the monitor brightness & contrast turned down

I quite like the eccentric / radical / zealous preaching style and the constant rubbishing of cheaper competition / carbon / Ti / drp bars etc etc

They've always had 'eclectic' colours, the yellow is a regular choice.

Yes the guidance makes great reading, opinionated and certainly not pulling punches. I don't know enough to call it but reminds me of Sheldon Brown in places!

Thorn customer base is probably around 55-60, Audax, touring type... they have been around longer than many and will be around when the more fashionable brands will have gone bust, so maybe they know what they are doing after all

Seems a mixture of great advice and commercial bias which can be difficult to work out which is which at times. I'm currently building a touring bike from an old Raleigh bike and must admit I use SJS cycles for inspiration on suitable components etc. Surprised the weight limit is so low at 100kg for most bikes but I guess they are playing safe due to their no quibble lifetime guarantee. Whatever that mega brochure is a fantastic resource in itself for those choosing or building a touring bike.

I've never bought anything major from them but have won a few auctions on ebay with them. Still keep trying to get their pannier bags on the cheap but they always go too high. I guess when I've built my touring bike I'll just have to pay the going rate but while I'm in the process of building it I might as well keep trying for a low auction price.

I must admit I really like the retro style of that brochure, it's like advertising that is 30 years out of date and really like the style.

I’ve used SJS/Thorn for years and rate them highly. I bought a Thorn Raven tandem with S&S couplers some years back and the hugely informative brochure was a great resource in deciding exactly what spec I wanted. They know what they are talking about.

SJS is also a good source for hard-to-find bits such as screw-on freewheels, unusual sized tyres and handbuilt small wheels and/or rims for folding bikes. They are fast and reliable for mail order and helpful and knowledgeable if you phone them.

Wow that site is something else. I didn't even realise it was a she until it was mentioned in the text. Also I'm not convinced this is a Kia Pro Ceed Estate.
