Kickstand for Cube Nuroad 2018
Now, I know this will sound very controversial and not everybody will be up to it...
But I do really need a kickstand for my Cube Nuroad 2018. I tried a few official once in the store but they either won't hold or are getting in the way when biking.
Maybe there are other owners of Nuroads that have found kickstand that works with the bike?
PS. Kickstand is needed because I often do photorides, when I would need to stop, get my camera and tripod and do some shots. Would be very convenient not to lie bike into the dirt and just put on a kickstand.

Lean it up against something. Fence. Tree. Hedge. Sign. Bush.
If none available place it on the ground gear side up. It'd probably fall over on a kickstand off road anyway.0 -

Yea, I somehow managed for a year so far.
Problem is, on a rides I usually have panniers on both sides and often there is nothing to lean on nearby – lots of fields around. Weather can also be not so good, so I end up making both my bike and panniers quite dirty, while I could just use kickstand.
Also the handlebars being the widest part of the bike – they get quite dirty quite fast. You can imagine, of course, if you would be putting the bike on the ground once every half an hour, for example.
Anyways. It's not about persuading me not to use kickstand, it's about finding the one that could fit my bike. Maybe some alternative solutions, maybe a temporary kickstand that can be easily attached and detached.
I am sure there are some products out there that I am missing in my search.0 -
What are the solutions for touring bikes? People with all that heavy load on a long ride, surely they don't put their bike on the ground?0

They rest their bike against a wall, a fence, a fence post, a tree, a bush...Ben

Here you go, take two of these fencing pins, hammer them in and lean the bike onto the hooks creating a tripod. Nice and stable. https://premierbarriers.co.uk/catalog/s ... gIYjvD_BwE
Have someone machine a thread into a replacement steerer top cap and use it as a mounting point for a Acratech ball head.
Hey presto a mobile tripod.
Or just find a hedge, fence, Kirb tree etc.0 -
Take an old bedsheet in the pannier and lay it on that to prevent dirt/scratches??FFS! Harden up and grow a pair0

No one's cross; just well versed in how easily bikes fall over when resting on a kickstand.Ben

Tbh I've not got a touring bike but never had a problem leaning my bikes up against something.0

Someone once said there are no stupid questions. He clearly hadn’t visited here0

Since you are all panniered up how about carrying one of these around?

The problem with a kickstand is with the weight of panniers on the bike it would have to hold the bike almost vertically to stop it toppling over, this means the slightest gust of wind can blow it over. You would need something like a motorcycle centre stand that has two legs and is more stable, not sure if you can get such a thing to fit your bike. The other problem with them is they tend to sink into soft ground.0

Not cheap, you could probably make something similar using camping tent fibreglass replacement poles and elastic.0

Or just cut yourself a forked stick and tie it to your top-tube?0

Or you could do what they do with cargo bikes - twin legged stand, but has to be in combination with a spring type stabiliser attachment that keeps the front wheel mostly straight, so as not to affect balance, but not too tight so as to affect steering whilst riding.
DIY one here with cableties!
Our Kona Minute has the twin legged kickstand and the spring, and it's invaluable when needing to get my daughter off and on the bike - would be a mare otherwise.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
