Having just had my wheels service at LBS wanted to change cassette and chain have done this many times but I have never encountered this problem before, for some unknown reason when applying pressure when peddling for instance up a slight slope I encounter slipping from the rear cassette any ideals why?

Poorly fitted rear cassette spinning on the free hub? Had this happen.

Granted it was over a period where the high gear rounded off the freehub.

    Worth checking it's fitted correctly.

Did you ride the wheels between the service and fitting the new cassette? If not, I'd be checking whether the LBS put the freehub back together properly.

Maybe they've overpacked the free hub with grease causing the pawls to stick. Replacing the cassette does not need the freehub to be accessed though. Perhaps you could stab the mechanic.
