Are My Mavic Wheels Dead Beyond Repair?
Posted this topic https://forum.bikeradar.com/viewtopic.php?f=40004&t=13105238 a couple of weeks ago.
Had a strange clicking gear skipping kind of noise for a couple of months. Couldn’t pin point what the issue was. Had replaced big ring, chain and cassette which didn’t help at all.
I’d serviced the freehub a couple of times.
However, I clearly hadn’t been looking very hard when I was servicing the freehub, as it now looks like this.
There’s a shallow ridge running both sides perpendicular to the pawls and the bit towards the outside is covered in little cracks, which I assume is what has been snagging when I get the noise mentioned above.
Does this look familiar to anyone, is the whole wheel f*cked and is there anything I can do about it?
They’re about 20 months old, done around 25,000km.

I’ve no idea what would cause that other than grit in there or something. Send them back see what Mavic says.0
