I recon it'll be a Cannondale of some sort...

Correct, but I blabbed on Workshop, figuring out an easy option to do the internal cabling.
    CAAD12 CNCPT frameset from Westbrooks.
The CAAD10 will be my TT bike.

Lovely looking frame!! Currently trying to decide on either a CAAD 12 frame or a Bowman Palace. Any further updates or pics on your build?

I've been given a tips for the internal gear routing from Westbrooks (good lads).
At the moment it is a bit in limbo as I am moving to a new flat very soon and need to sort out that rather than build the new frame up.
It will get there ... eventually.

ENVE supply the bars with strange looking stops, so when bar tape is applied it will have a super neat appearance.

Actually , Ive binned off the pressfit c -Bear in preference to a WheelsMfg BB30a adapter which is threaded!
    Sensible.
If I'm not packing this weekend, I might fit the shifters and cut the small amount of cable outers required.

Had c-bear lovely and smooth but still creaked. I decided on the outboard wmf like yours, it still requires loctite. creak free, you can still replace the bearings without removing the internals.

    Nice. I have a 10 for winter and a 12 for summer - so a bit of a fan.
But, I have to ask - why not a Bowman? If I was building my own, I'd find it very hard not to go that way.

The Bowman delivery times have slipped dramatically for the new colourway.
    I went for the Caad12 ..
    it was 'on offer'
    it was in stock.
I may be wrong, but the Bowman may well be based on the older Caad10 frame technology? Rounded oversized tubing.
In effect, too similar to my 10.
The 10 will be the TT bike (eventually).

For the fully paid up amateur mechanic, not exactly a fan of internal cabling.

If Romans were as bad tempered as me struggling with fork preload.
No, it ain’t slammed ....yet., I know.
Front mech went on with less than whimper.

It is the last time I build a bike, so yes it will take until next March.
  • Looking good! Last time you build, why is that?

Can't think you could slam it any more with the negative stem sat on the headset bearing cap. A smaller bearing cap might gain you 5mm or so but it looks fine to me as it is. If you mean the excess steerer has not yet been trimmed then OK

One query - is there enough slack in the derailleur cable we can see (not sure if it's for front or rear) to allow a full unhindered arc for the bars? Just looks a tad short to me.

Yes, the excess needs to be cut. But if I sell the bike on, some leeway might be useful.
Nope, no stress on the cables as they are when the steerer is turned.
Of course it might just become a Zwifter.
  • looking really nice - bit jealous tbh.

i'd cut the excess off the steerer though - why keep it on the off chance maybe ooooh it may happen at some point.

  • Hope you don't mind me posting here but I've just finished my 2019 CAAD 12 build. Well I say build as I was going to buy the frameset but I got a real good deal on the Ultegra model. I've changed a fair amount of it of course for example the terrible wheels it came with.

It's a fantastic bike to ride, really stiff and fast but not uncomfortable. You're in for a right treat when it's done.

Don't worry MF's, it's slammed and the steerer has been cut.

Well apart from cosmetics, it is DONE.
    I’m done.
    345-C4-FFB-1-DA2-43-B7-ADAE-114-C0-CF8368-B.jpg
A right drama when I dropped some plastic tubing into the top tube when threading the c@ble. It is out but it was close to chucking the thing into the skip.

My trusty Caad10 is still my goto bike.
It’s insurance value to replace , with Mavic Carbones... close to 2.2k. It’s actual value? Maybe 1k....if lucky.
    BIKES ARE MONEYPITS
It will now be finished, finished this week and hung on the wall of the flat as a metaphor for dark obsessions.
  • Apart from that tat on top of the stem it looks utterly lovely.

    Big. Phat. Hat.

i actually part regret buying the S3 and not one of those .....
