Ksyrium disc cassette axle movement.

A friend is having some probs with his Ksyrium disc rear wheel. When he takes the wheel off he can move the whole cassette and rear axle in and out about half an inch so you can see a large coil spring between the cassette and hub body. The cassette body is still tight on the hub.He has sent me some pics but I don’t know how to put them on here from an email.
Any ideas? Or is a trip to the lbs in order?
