Name may be familiar to some of you of a certain vintage.

It's been reported he and his wife have died. Original reports were a car accident but the latest updates seem a lot darker.

    DIdn't he dominate the sprints at the Kellogg's Tour one year? Won 3 or 4 stages.

    Yes, 89 I think. Finished 3rd.

    That's where I remember him from as it was a race with TV coverage.

    I remember that Tour in '89........a certain Mr S Kelly was Mountains classification winner, Robert Millar won the overall with Stumpf taking the Points jersey.
    Not sure of circumstances re his/wife's deaths but RIP.
    I was into my road racing 100% back then........and saw many iterations of the Milk Race/Kellogs Tour.

    It appears he killed his wife, from whom he was separated, in her house and set her on fire before killing himself.
