I do a some of free weight strength training at home (although "strength" is an overstatement, I have a typical roadie climber build). Does it help my cycling? Probably not, but it does help with improved all-round fitness and injury prevention, especially as I'm not getting any younger. Plus I enjoy it.

Use to? Did he go to shirt lifting conversion camp?
  • I used to lift in the offseason, then would lose those strength gains, and then tried not lifting, and started to get injured.

    Injured how?
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

Lost his job in the end, got caught selling them at car boot fairs.

Don't get you, a bloke at work got caught lifting shirts from the warehouse and selling them at the weekend. Lost his job, his own fault for being dishonest. What it has to do with the bloke you have mentioned, whoever he is, I really have no idea.

Is this the same as picking up women?

(This is bound to have this thread moved to The Bottom Bracket)

Now a BR mod has to accuse you of making a homophobic joke, you tell them to f*ck off because you intended it to be a joke about stealing shirts and delete your account.

I'm just trying to inject some interest to this thread, the blog was about as boring as the work I'm meant to be doing...

We could start that old debate about whether cycling gains are better from more miles in the saddle or specific leg strengthening exercises in the gym.

Or we could just go to the pub instead.

i lift a bit of weight as i find it helps me with my day job and with the ladies.

not so sure about with cycling but boy do i look good in lycra. if the average clubbie tried to do what i do though they would die from weakness.

and yes, the pub is a very good idea.

Can you show me where I have told anyone to f-off? I certainly can't see anywhere I have written that.
