A cracking day on the bike was had in Yorkshire this weekend when I took part in the 300km audax from Newby Wiske not from Thirsk and Northallerton.
The weather, I am not gonna lie, was absolutely atrocious, some of the worst I have ever had to put myself through. But it was all worth it in the end with amazing views of the Dales and the North Pennines in the sunnier bits!
I'd definitely recommend the Yorkshire Dales as a place to ride your bike and I will be returning!

That looks pretty hard in those conditions. I have an entry for the Etape Du Dales in a couple of weeks that I was going to let slide, as I've done almost zero roadying this year, but I've never ridden round there and it looks so beautiful. As long as the weather is not too bad I reckon I can bimble round and it will be worth it.0

Gave it a miss, spent the day in York and helped Dean at the finish instead... :-)left the forum March 20230
