I have a fairly short commute (3.5 miles) and want o cycle it regularly on my mountain bike, but don't want the faff of changing at work. How do folks keep trousers grease free during the cycle?

It may be worth chucking up a picture of your current bike. Consider mud guards of a decent length and as others have suggested

It's coming to time of year where shorts are the way forward and for the matter of rolling up a pair of trousers and putting them in a rucksack it'd likely add about 30 seconds to your we time on arrival at work changing over
