Anyone bought carbon aero bars from China?

Something like this:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3242382757

Were they ok or are they likely to be rubbish?
Got a place in the Pyrenees.
Do bike and ski stuff.

Well they're a blatant rip off of 3T so I personally wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

There are good and bad manufacturers selling direct from Taiwan etc, but one that is selling goods to look like a proper brand does not deserve any business. If they were so sure of their product, surely they'd have their own branding.
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.
  • Fair point and they were probably a poor example, can you recommend any companies? Farsports is the only one I am familiar with but they don’t appear to sell bars.

When descending a steep hill at 50mph or so, with your nose over the front wheel and most of your upper body weight on your cheap carbon bars from China do you really want to be wondering if they are manufactured to the same tolerances as those that they copy?

If you don't want to fork out for branded carbon aerobars go for alloy. As light but loads cheaper.

I bought some Toseek bars of Ebay for about £30. I thought if I try and can not break them they are fit for purpose. I could not. That's about a year ago and 2k miles. The job handlebars do is pretty simple. Put some on your bike and try to break them.

I have them on them on two bikes now. Light and look well made. I really like them.

That doesn't mean a thing. Cheap carbon bars fail because of stress over time. Why take a chance with your life to save a few quid?

Hello Bungle. We have not heard from you for a while. I have them fully covered in bar tape so that the rain does not disolve them.
