No.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0

I've got one and the answer is no.
What MIPS does is to provide some extra movement for the top of the helmet while the bottom stays attached to your head... it's no different from wearing a cycling cap under your helmetleft the forum March 20230 -
What are you basing that on?
The independent testing that's been done has pretty much proven that MIPS helmets provide additional protection from concussion risks. If you're buying a new helmet now I'd look to get MIPS.

Given that Bontrager claimed that at any significant force a MIPS liner's levels of friction caused it not to move and thus render it no more effective than a normal helmet I'd say a cycling cap + helmet is not equal to a helmet with a MIPS liner. Though the effectiveness of MIPS Vs Wavecell is debated, i'd say both are superior to a cycling cap and a helmet.0 -
I recently bought a new road helmet. Looking around I was surprised at how reasonable the increased cost of a Mips equipped lid was compared to the regular version.
I bought a Bontrager as it fitted well and it was only £15 more compared to the non Mips equipped version.0 -
