What gears do you have on your bike?

Just curious to see what gears people are using on their road bikes. I currently have a compact chainset and 11-28, but am about to switch to 11-34 as I struggle on the steeper hills!

I currently have a 32t cassette on my best bike. However it also has a triple chainset so my lowest gear is 30/32 :D

The winter hack has a 46/36 CX chainset, but I've just bought it a 9 spd MTB rear mech and 36t cassette to a achieve a similarly spinny bottom gear.

In my defence I'm getting on a bit now...

I've just switched out my cassette - going from a 25 biggest to a 28 biggest.
    Chainset is a 52/36

One bike has 50/34 with 11/32 and the other bike has 50/34 with 11/36. I am allowed to have big cogs because I am an old git and it is hilly around here.

I recently swapped a 12-25 for a 11-28 and strangely, it doesn't feel any easier, I'm just more tempted to stay seated for longer on steep sections.

Just curious as to why what appear to be men are posting what gears they use on a women's forum?

I think my contribution is valid; I get overtaken by women all the time.

11-32 cassette and 52 - 36 chain ring. Not really a low enough gear, there are 20% slopes around here and I cannot go very far without a fair amount of 10 or 15% but if I change it the ratios, I lose the top gear which I cherish. I'm a young 56 and cycling with 2 herniated lumbar discs and spinal stenosis. Managed 40km, 400m climb this afternoon at 37° and humid with it. Generally, I like to do about 60km and 800m climb to get into my beloved mountains (I live in the Pyrenees) which i manage a couple of times a week.

Doesn’t sound like a lot of climbing for distance in the Pyrenees?
