Sorry if I'm being a bit slow here, but isn't that just describing the migration of our human species out of Africa? Go back far enough you're back in the rift valley right? If you don't go far enough back your likely viking, saxon, Norman or some other incomer. Or you're a mix of all of them, a true mongrel breed!
In the meantime it allows for shoehorning in Boris Johnson's erection. Not bad for a Tuesday morning thread.
Back to stonehenge and historical matters, Britain has been a player on Europe and the world from stone age times I believe. For example stone axes made from stone collected in the great langdales has been found in burial goods in Eastern Europe. Other British items have traveled far too. Shows our island's inhabitants were part of a wide trading network, plugged in to the rest of Europe. Our stone age forebears found that advantageous, why in our more connected world is it no longer a good idea?
The HYS comments in that BBC article are astonishing.
Managing to make a story about prehistoric archaeology into a rant about Brexit takes a special kind of idiocy.
Sounds like you are having a pop at the OP there, RJS
I took that to be ironic, but if the hat fits...:)
Never knew morstar wore a hat...
Not keen on hats tbh. Ironic, yes, I quite like Alanis Morissette.
Cue debate about her misinterpretation of irony.
Purpose of thread, just an interesting article, I never mentioned Brexit, just an attempt at a humorous title. Possibly works for some, not for others.

It was and thanks for posting it. I did particularly like the HYS comment about Anglo-saxons - only about 4,000 years out.
1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

My favourite comments are the ones hinting at eugenics being a good thing... that the BBC deemed fit for publication.
I read a few this morning but it was all a bit surreal. Biggest frustration for me was how predictable my thread title was given that several people in the comments made the same joke. Better stick to my day job!

So yes, he knows that Turkish immigrants can cause trouble as well as ruining the landscape with their unwanted erections.
Ready made solution.
A fine piece of doubling up your entendres. Chapeau sir.
