Differences between spesh Avatar & Power saddles?

Hi,

Do you happen to have experiences with specialized Avatar and Power saddles? How different are they?

Last summer I bought a Triban 540 (the one w/ shimano 105) and while the bike in itself is okay, I hate that bloody saddle. It must be replaced. I have a 155mm wide specialized avatar (gel comp?) on my main bike, and am reasonably OK on it until ~100 km (never went further). This would be my main candidate, except I feel tempted by something flashier, such as the Power expert or perhaps a Fizik Aliante. Any sort of comment would be appreciated.

For the reference, I weigh 72 kg, from Strava estimates I'd have an FTP of about 210-220 W and ride mostly on the hoods.

The Avatar has level 3 padding, which means it's aimed for people looking for a more upright position and not many hours on the bike. The Power will be more comfortable (if it fits your body type and is set up correctly) on longer rides since it has less padding (level 2). It's also a saddle that can be set for more aggressive positions/racing and provides good sit bone support as it has a wide platform by nature.

OK, thank you! I'll try to get one for a test ride or so and see how it goes.

Remember on the Power you have to adjust it more forward than your usual saddle as its a bit stubby.

Thanks for the tip! In the end I drove to the nearest Spesh shop and got a test Power Comp. Don't think the rails not being hollow Ti will make that much of a difference. Will report back to see how it goes.

If you find it chafes a bit consider the Power Arc, it's a bit more rounded.
