Bodge bike carry strap

Anyone got a way to bodge together something like this?
http://backcountryresearch.com/super-8- ... mount.html
I sometimes use a buff wrapped around my garmin mount and my stem to put gloves, arm warmers, etc...when I get too hot, but would like something a little more secure for some upcoming longer gravel rides. However, that thing is a little expensive in the UK, £22 or so. Was thinking of some sort of loop of elastic around the stem with some hooks, or even a carabiner. Any ideas?

Or get a small bag that sits under the tube?0 -
how about a roll of this and make your own? all you have to do is wrap it around your top/seat/down tube.

Quite a few options on this site: https://shop.velcro.co.uk/collections/v ... and-straps or you could look at some of the options that motorcyclist use to attach things to their bikes, something along these lines https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROK-Straps-M ... 26785516620

Bought similar from a local haberdashery shop to keep the various charging cables in work tidy when not in use.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
