@anonymousblackfg - Thanks for the crazy idea! Climbing White Down in the dark made it psychologically easier and the decent from Ranmore to Effingham less bumpy than it normally rides.

It was great fun guys. Thanks again!

ahem, i think you meant to type "to check where me and MTB-Idle had got to"

What do you mean, if it hadn't been for that puncture i'd have been in Epsom before Rhodrich was even near the top.
If I know you, and I like you, you can borrow my bike box for £30 a week. PM for details.

Yes, I really enjoyed that. Really should have made more of an effort to eat more before we left. That was a bloody good scotch egg though. Well done to Rodrich, he was definitely the craziest of us.
Very slow wobble to work this morning.

Next time I'll be there (when life isn't interfering so much). Sounds like a fun evening - and probably a prevailing tailwind back.

Given that we'll be in Holmbury St Mary anyway, I'm planning an ascent of Leith, as I've never ridden up there on fixed gear.
I think that says it all, they say it's a fine line between bravery and lunacy. This was a bit like that, much respect but also a bit nuts.

Here's my edit. Nothing fancy, just a chronological record of the evening. I probably should have shot some footage in the pub rather than stills just to complete the story but you can't have everything.

We don't have to go out tonight

    Best viewed with sound. Enjoy

It was an unrestricted illegal e-Bike, so that doesn't count! Sometimes see him on my commute.

yeah, that was why I included it in the edit, I clearly would have left it on the cutting room floor if we really got overtaken by an MTB

That's me going 'whoop whoop!' as he goes past...

Sorry, things got a bit hectic so I didn't get back to this. Shall we go for Thursday the 24th? We could go to the Canbury Arms again or the Albion as ABFG suggested.
