Internal cables

Hi,
I am ordering a carbon fibre frame which has holes in it so that the brake and gear cables run internally.

A) Do I need any special tools for this?
B) Do I thread through bare cables, or do I still need the regular cable hose / housing, and then thread that through?

Thank you all in advance.

Both answers depend on the frame. Some frames have full internal guides, whether just for the inner cable or for the inner and outer together, in which case it's easy, you just push the cables through and they pop out the other end. Others do just have a cable stop and the inner cables disappear into the tubes. It's possible to do these without proper tools - There's methods such as putting some cotton through the frame tied to the inner cables and sucking it out the other end with a vacuum cleaner, or the frame may come with removable guide tubes. However, this, though expensive, is possibly the best tool I've ever bought, as it reduced the effort of recabling a particularly nasty frame from several hours of swearing to 5 minutes of minimal effort.
