Hi,
Could someone please tell me if this bottom bracket is suitable for a Hollowtech II crankset - or does the bottom bracket itself need to be a special type.

I have been caught out a few times regarding incorrect information.

Thank you all in advance.

According to the listing, it should be.

Any particular reason why you want this one and not another brand?

Just buy a Shimano HT2 bottom bracket.
An XT one is only £17.

(Or are you set on colour coding your bike?)

It looks like it would fit to me, but did you see who the supplier is? Are you sure it really is a genuine ceramic BB and not a rip off copy?

    Thanks for the replies.

I was looking for a red BB, in order to colour match it.
I will take a look at the Shimano ones, but I haven’t seen those in red?

Thanks for the provided link, plenty of Red BBs on there!

Is it really worth spending £63 on a ceramic BB, as opposed to £32 for a steel one?
Apart from the obvious weight advantage, would someone like me who just rides to work and back really notice, or benefit?

Also, am I then correct in thinking, that any BB with a 24mm diameter hole through it, should be compatible with a HT 2 crankset?

    Thanks everyone.

I've got a Shimano XT HT2 BB that I bought on offer for £13 (I bought 3 in total). My bike has been to Afan, BPW, Peaks etc and I've never given it a 2nd thought. I doubt a lot of regular riders would even notice if they had a ceramic BB.

For you, I'd say it's not necessary.

If you want a red one, just make sure it's HT2 compatable. I don't know if 24mm means it all fits the same standard. Someone else will know that.
