In Danish, the Queen Stage is called Kongeetapen - The King Stage.

How is it gendered in other languages that have some royalty stage nomenclature? Is Danish just weird?

Well in French since the bike is known as the little queen I guess it makes sense that it's called the queen stage.

Complete guess, but I would imagine that the English version is a translation of the French, and that the French word for stage (etape) is feminine so it needs to be a queen.

Maybe I've been listening to Carlton Kirby too much over the years but I always took it to be the queen stage would help to crown the 'king' of the stage.
